Sam's Shed

This was an amazing venue for a short time on the Gold Coast, a tiny storage shed that can hold maybe 60-70 people max. if you crammed everyone inside. Venues like this are a breath of fresh air for the Punk/Hardcore scene because it gives bands a place to play without worrying about attendance numbers or trying to sneak in their underage friends and can really help bands get established, considering the quality bands that have come from the shed crew including Ghost Town, Die Go Die, Germ Head etc. In my 3 and a half years in Homewrecker our show at Sam's shed was without a doubt one of the most memorable shows we played. It doesnt get any more fun than this and i really think the Goldy crew have/had something special going on.
Heres some footage of the show we played.
SHED SHOWS RULE!!!!!

Gold Kids

Last night i had the pleasure of attending the Gold Kids show in Sydney. I arrived kinda late and only caught the last 3 bands but it was definately worth it. Phantoms really impressed me, even though im not really into that kinda heavy hardcore, they re a band to watch over the coming months. Next up Ghost town, super crazy and always amazing, then Gold Kids. I was actually really siked on these guys after only really checking out a song or 2 on their myspace i was thoroughly impressed. Not only were they a rad band but super nice genuine dudes too. Its good to see that bands are willing to take a risk and come to a country where they are barely known to play shows to 50 kids. Fuck the haters, I think that takes balls and the ultimate ability to believe in yourself. So if you get the chance to see them in your town, check it out, buy a record or a shirt and get crazy!!!
